Techfest IIT Bombay Workshop Experience




If you wish to enrol for any workshop or you have already enrolled, here are some guidelines which will help you to prepare for attending workshops at IIT Bombay's annual technical festival.

 I went to the Android Application Development Workshop by Google at 2020 Techfest. So here are my observations.

1) The workshop was delivered by experienced Googlers.
The experts were helpful and very knowledgable. They personally helped students who got errors in their code. They even stayed after the workshop got over to help enthusiastic students with their code.
Flutter was taught very well by Ms Nikita Gandhi and Mr Deven Joshi.


2) The list of content and software were mailed to participants before 10 days.



However, most of the participants didn't download them and hence it took a lot of time to start the workshop.

3) Internet at IIT Bombay was very slow (due to heavy traffic )for people to download things from. 

So download basic requirements before going. And, take extra internet sources if you want to.

4) All of the charging ports didn't work in the lecture hall. 
Try to reach early and test if your seats' port is working.

5) Workshop start late and end early. 
Also, I didn't get a break during the mentioned time. The workshop started after 9:30 am and went on till 4:00 pm.

6) This workshop was very basic and it failed to achieve its content. 
This was because of late starting, lack of fast internet, lack of students' experience and a lot of time were wasted by professionals in helping students with errors. This might be a problem 2nd-year college student onwards because of their knowledge.



This workshop did not meet up to my expectations but it is a great step to learn something new from experienced people. This was mostly because participants weren't much experienced in programming and infrastructure limitations. The coordinators were very humble and helpful.

Overview of Three Dimensional Array

A multidimensional array is an array consisting of more than 2 dimensions.  We can perceive three dimensions at most. To visual 3-dimensional array, let's take an example of a cube. Therefore, the array is cube[3][3][3]. For better understanding, represent a 3-D array as a combination of 2-D arrays.  Note: The two-dimensional array must have the same size. To conclude, a three dimensional array has arr[sub-array number][row][column]. Application of 3-D array: To represent real-world location co-ordinates. Overview of 2 Dimensional array

A two-dimensional array is an array of array.  For the best view, rotate your screen horizontally. For example, consider a sample time table. Here, the days are an array. Each day consists of an array within them. Thus it forms a 2-D array with 6 columns and 7 rows. The text entered in each box acts as an element. The advantages and disadvantages of a 2-dimensional array are the same as a 1-dimensional array as I mentioned in this blog- 1-D Array Overview . A major application of 2-dimensional array is a representation of matrices.
